Women with their feet binded.

Up to some decades ago, in China, small feet in women was translated as status and elegance. Although, in order to keep their feet small, singe young age these women had their feet broken and tied with bandages, and literally lived in pain. Some of the images may be considered graphic.

Thank god we dont practice this in singapore.
